Our Medical Staff

Dr. Mulvaney is a native of Schenectady, NY and he earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College. After serving eleven years in the US Army where he did his internship, Dermatology residency and Mohs fellowship; he returned to private practice in Mohs Micrographic Surgery.  Dr. Mulvaney is a professional member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Medical Association, Medical Society of the State of New York, New York State Society of Dermatology and the Capital District Dermatology Society. In addition, he is board certified with the American Board of Dermatology.  Dr. Mulvaney has published numerous publications and presents a wealth of knowledge related to his field of study. In 2016, he was named one of the top Capital District Physicians.  Dr. Mulvaney lives in Albany, NY with his wonderful wife Janet, and their dogs. When he is not performing Mohs he enjoys running, Pilates, walking his dogs, vacationing in St. John and spending time with his family.

Dr. Altmayer is an experienced, fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. He studied at SUNY Upstate Medical University where he completed his medical school education and internship. He completed his residency training in dermatology at the University of Maryland Medical Center and his fellowship in Mohs Surgery at Brown University. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery, and the Capital District Dermatology Society. 

Dr. Altmayer is a native of Guilderland and was excited to return to the area to join the practice in 2015. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, three children, and their dog.

Dr. Kim is a board-certified dermatologist and Harvard-trained Mohs surgeon. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Kim worked as a middle school math teacher for ten years before embarking on his medical training. He then received his medical degree from Stony Brook University and completed dermatology residency at the University of California at Irvine. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. During his time at Dana Farber, he was involved in multiple oncology trials for locally advanced and metastatic skin cancers. Dr. Kim also obtained a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard School of Public Health where his research focused on melanoma skin cancer screening.  Dr. Kim is an associate member of the American College of Mohs Surgeons and a fellow of the American Board of Dermatology.  

Dr. Kim is a native New Yorker, born and raised in Queens, NY. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors hiking with his wife, son, and Australian Shephard and is an aspiring BBQ pitmaster.

Dr. Grant is a board-certified dermatologist with a special interest in cutaneous oncology. She graduated from Ithaca College with a masters degree in physical therapy before going on to earn her medical degree from Albany Medical College. She completed her internship at Bassett Medical Center and her residency training in dermatology at Tufts New England Medical Center. Upon completion of her residency training, she returned to Cooperstown, NY as an attending dermatologist at Bassett Medical Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Board of Dermatology.   

Dr. Grant is a native of Clifton Park and was excited to return to the Capital Region to join the practice in 2021. She enjoys spending her free time at Lake George with her husband and 2 children.

Dr. Tess Pollinger, DO, is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology. She graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012 and completed her residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in 2016. Dr. Pollinger specializes in Skin Cancer & Excision and is a seasoned dermatologist with more than a decade of expertise in her field. She really enjoys cosmetic and surgical dermatology and is very excited to get started! Kate is a Board Certified and State of New York licensed Physician Assistant specializing in surgical dermatology. Kate completed her undergraduate studies at Siena College in Loudonville, NY majoring in Psychology with minors in biology and health care. She went on to receive her Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. 

Upon graduation, Kate completed a dermatologic internship at Capital District Dermatology Associates. She worked in cardiothoracic surgery before joining our practice in 2008.  Kate is an asset to the practice, she provides the patients with the most compassionate care assisting Dr. Mulvaney, Dr. Altmayer, and Dr. Kim with pre and post operative care, performing excisions of benign and malignant lesions, minor surgical procedures, and reconstructions.

Linh joined Albany Dermatology in November 2020. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT and then obtained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT. Her clinical year included rotations in dermatology and extensive surgical experience related to skin and soft tissue disease.  

Linh’s interests include early detection and treatment of various skin cancers and is skilled in the management of a wide variety of chronic skin conditions. She is trained to perform procedures including cryotherapy, biopsies, and removal of benign and cancerous skin lesions. Linh has a passion for dermatology and thoroughly enjoys interacting with patients of all ages to address their concerns.  Linh is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the State of New York. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the New England Dermatology Society.

Lauren joined the practice in November 2020. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The State University of New York College at Oneonta and her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. She is a member of the Pi Alpha National Honor Society.  Prior to joining SKIN Specialists, Lauren spent five years working in family medicine.

 She enjoys developing close relationships with her patients and is passionate about enhancing their quality of life through skin care. Lauren has additional experience in personal training and is skilled in educating and motivating her patients to achieve their health goals.  As a Physician Assistant who has received specialized training in dermatology, 

Lauren is licensed and qualified to provide a wide range of medical and surgical services to our dermatologic patients.  She Is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the State of New York. Lauren is a proud member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Michael Weinberg, RPA-C is a board certified physician assistant registered with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) originally from Stamford, NY. While attending Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He went on to graduate school at D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York where he earned a dual-degree Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Physician Assistant. After completing his graduate degree, he continued on to begin a career serving a small rural population as a dermatology Physician Assistant at the New York Skin & Vein Center in Oneonta, NY where he has spent the last 10 years specializing in medical and surgical dermatology in addition to skin cancer diagnosis and treatment.

In addition to his career as a Physician Assistant, Michael serves as a paid consultant for Pfizer Inc. where he speaks on the benefits of specific medications targeted towards atopic dermatitis. He has also served as a mentor to high-school students exploring the field of medicine through the New Visions Program through Oneonta BOCES in addition to preparing Physician Assistant students for work in the field as a clinical preceptor.

Michael enjoys treating a variety of skin conditions, but to name his favorite, he enjoys helping relieve his patients of ongoing issues and discomfort concerning acne and psoriasis. According to Michael, the best part of his job is being able to assist patients on an individual level and improving their quality of life through improving their skin.

When not in the office, Michael enjoys skiing and golfing. He currently lives in Cobleskill, New York with his wife, their young daughter, and two chihuahuas.

Maria Weber, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She worked for several years in vascular surgery prior to transferring her medical knowledge and skills to the field of dermatology.

She completed a Masters Program at Stony Brook University and her undergraduate studies at Syracuse University. With a passion for helping individuals feel confident and comfortable in their own skin, Maria emphasizes preventive medicine and educates patients on skincare practices tailored to their needs. 

Beyond clinical practice, Maria is dedicated to empowering patients by providing access to resources and knowledge essential for maintaining healthy skin, hair, and nails. Her favorite part of the job is establishing trusting relationships with her patients and teaching them how they can be an integral part of their own healthcare. 

She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the New England Dermatology Society. When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys writing, crafts, and spending time with her husband, young son, and dogs.

Leena Brown, PA-C, is a licensed and board certified Physician Assistant. She received her Physician Assistant degree from Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. She trained at several Manhattan hospitals including the New York Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with focus in dermatology. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.  

Leena specializes in the treatment of acne and acne scarring, skin cancer screenings, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, melasma, sun damage, aging skin, hair loss, and warts.  

She also has a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Governors State University in Illinois, and an undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology from Brigham Young University, both of which add to her experience in the healthcare field. 

Leena grew up in Finland and loves all things outdoors.  She enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures and languages,  has three grown children and she speaks fluent Finnish and Swedish.

Meghan Wilock joined SKIN Specialists in September 2024. She earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York. Prior to joining SKIN Specialists, Meghan spent several years working in Dermatology in the Capital Region area, and before that, seven years working with the neurosurgical team at Albany Medical Center. 

Over her career in Dermatology, Meghan has become skilled at performing skin cancer screenings, excisions, and biopsies. She also has developed skills to treat a wide range of dermatological diagnoses that include acne, eczema, and psoriasis amongst many others. Meghan enjoys treating patients of all ages and educating them so that they can be successful outside the office as well. While Meghan has developed a deep passion for medical dermatology, it’s her ability to develop trust and foster connections with her patients while simultaneously being able to help them with their skin care needs that drives her practice.  

A native of Colonie, New York, Meghan enjoys working out, listening to music, baking, visiting with friends, and spending quality time with her husband and three very active kids.

Michelle provides esthetic and laser services to teens, women and men in the SKIN Specialists MedSpa. She is a licensed estheticians and 2005 graduate from the Aesthetic Science Institute in Latham, NY. 

Michelle joined Albany Dermatology in January 2018. She brings to the practice many years of experience in the esthetic industry and with a holistic approach to skin care provides excellent support to patients receiving medical and cosmetic services. Having previously worked at Capital Region day spas, Michelle is skilled in providing facials for all skin types and also perform a variety of medical grade customized chemical peels as well as microdermabrasion and micro-needling. She also utilize lasers for tattoo and hair removal and perform Intense Pulsed Light and skin resurfacing to treat acne, rosacea, scarring and photoaging.  

 Michelle continually extend her knowledge of the industry by taking continuing education courses, attending trade shows and keeping abreast of the latest trends in esthetic products and procedures.

Christy joined the practice in 2015 and comes to us with a great amount of knowledge of medical office operations. She is very focused on making sure the practice runs efficiently so that patients receive the best possible care. Christy grew up locally and earned her BS from Siena College and her MBA from Sage College in Albany. Christy is an active member in the Medical Group Management Association and The National Association of Professional Women. She constantly remains up to date with the entire ever-changing world of healthcare and insurance billing. Christy lives in Schodack, NY with her husband Jason, and their children.  When she is not working, Christy enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family.

Amy joined us in 2003. As the nurse manager, Amy is committed to providing clinical leadership in the office. Amy earned her BSN from the State University of NY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of nursing and a member of the Dermatologic Nurses Association. Amy grew up locally and when she is not working she enjoys teaching dance and spending time with her husband and children.

Joyce joined the practice in 2021, bringing 19 years of experience working in a Medical office setting.  She is committed to providing a positive patient experience that aligns with the core values of our practice. Her goal is to support and nurture her team, allowing everyone to contribute their unique skill sets to create a compassionate setting for patient care. When she is not working, she likes to recharge by spending time with her family, kayaking, gardening, and teaching yoga and meditation classes.

Allison grew up in a small town just outside the Albany area. She graduated from Cazenovia College in 2012 with a BPS specializing in Business Management. Over the last 10 years, Allison has worked in medical office settings in various roles gaining experience in managing, scheduling and billing. Her goal is to empower her staff to voice ideas that will help cultivate an environment where they will work together as a unit, resulting in a better work atmosphere and overall patient experience. 

Outside of work Allison enjoys reading, kayaking, playing volleyball or hiking with her husband and their two dogs, Paisley and Darla.

Jenni joined the practice in 2020 and comes from 5 years of working at Albany Medical Center in the Cardiovascular ICU. As nursing supervisor, Jenni is committed to making sure the surgical practice runs smoothly and that our patients receive the best care. Jenni graduated from Siena College in 2014 with her BS in biology and then received her BSN from Russell Sage in 2017 also being inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honors society. Jenni grew up locally and when she is not working she loves spending time with her family and doing agility with her dog, Ellie.

Falisha Boodram is a Registered Nurse  and a proud graduate of Maria College. Her journey in healthcare has taken her from being an LPN in Dermatology to exploring oral surgery, and now is back to her  dermatology roots. 

Schenectady is where she calls home, living with her wonderful fiancée. Falisha's little family also includes Max, a playful Yorkie, and Teal, our gentle greyhound/Shepard mix. 

When not caring for patients, you'll find Falisha exploring new destinations, cherishing moments with loved ones, and indulging in delicious cuisine at local restaurants.
